INDICATION:

Metformin is used to treat:

-          People with type 2 diabetes,when diet and exercise alone cannot sufficiently control the blood sugarlevels. Type 2 diabetes is where insulin production and/or its effects aregradually reduced. Metformin is used particularly in overweight patients.

-          Adults can use Metformin onits own or together with other medicines to treat diabetes taken by mouth, orinsulin.

-           Children 10years and over can use Metformin on its own or together with insulin.
